I have been away interstate on workshops and have therefore taken a break from blogging. Need to get back to work however, on completing the textbooks for the new round of books for 2015. I thought I would attach two documents that might prove useful for teaching 'Billy Elliot' in the current elective focus.
It will be fairly easy to shift across to the new elective focus with minimal reworking of resources for teachers who are already teaching this engaging film. My students found it readily accessible and did very well in their Module C responses when I taught it a couple of years ago. The contextual situation is interesting and they can quickly grasp the significance it plays within the film. As always, related texts need to be well chosen, needing to be equally rich in conceptual depth and able to support and/or challenge core issues developed within 'Billy Elliot'.
