Workshops
School-hosted staff workshops will be organised throughout
Term IV and 2020. These will follow the Common Module,
Modules A and B pattern that is normally used by schools.
I have included Staff Feedback for two '1984' Staff
workshops for Human Experiences given in 2019.

Human Experiences Common Module Workshops
Send an email if you are interested in hosting a school based staff workshop for one of these Common Module Texts. These face to face workshops are typically 4-5 hours but they can be flexibly designed. Regional schools often opt for two days in order to include student sessions as well. Textual focus and session times can be designed to suit your curriculum needs. |

Feedback from last year's '1984' staff workshops.
Workshop Feedback - School Based 2018-2019
October 19th, 2018 at Kelso Campus, Bathurst
5 hours: 'Teacher Identified' PD
* Excellent, concrete, hands-on activities that can be easily put into play within classrooms.
*Course generated great opportunities for sharing.
*Lots of ideas were discussed at a textual level.
*This was brilliant-informative, practical with lots of discussion.
*Thorough, detailed, academic and original. This ran like a good tutorial rather
than a lecture.
*Amazing range of materials/skills/discussion. Great ideas and hints re new HSC.
January 1st, 2019 at Richmond H.S.(Hawkesbury)
5 hours: 'Teacher Identified' PD
*Another great workshop. Barbara's experience is invaluable and, again, we were provided with useful and practical ways of teaching the text/module.
*'Very informative, well presented. Gave me new insight into how to teach the Common Module and how to engage students.
*Course was very informative and included some great discussions and teaching strategies.
*Excellent course that reinvigorated my passion for 1984. Amazing presentation, excellent resources, well-paced and inspired conceptual discussion.
*I had a great time and learned so much.
*A comprehensive, well-resourced and engaging course that drilled down into the core aspects of the module and the text.
*Wonderful resources, related texts, activities. Strong discussion hitting on key points, ideas and tips.
